About keypads & key selectors

Keypads open a gate or barrier with a code; key selectors use a key switch; proximity readers use fobs or cards.

Used at gates, barriers, bin stores and doors on homes, flats and businesses.

Local considerations in Broseley, Shropshire

In England, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.

At roughly 155 m above sea level, Broseley sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.

Around Broseley we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.

We pick the mounting height so a driver can reach it, the cable route and weather protection.

Planned maintenance keeps keypads & key selectors safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service CAME and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
