Keypads open a gate or barrier with a code; key selectors use a key switch; proximity readers use fobs or cards.
Used at gates, barriers, bin stores and doors on homes, flats and businesses.
Local considerations in Hitchin, Hertfordshire
In England, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.
Work in Hitchin is a mix of residential blocks, schools, offices, industrial units and homes, and we tailor the specification to how busy the site is.
We pick the mounting height so a driver can reach it, the cable route and weather protection.
