About automatic pedestrian gates
An automatic pedestrian gate is a single-leaf gate beside a vehicle gate or barrier, opened by fob, keypad or intercom with a lock that releases on entry.
Used at apartment blocks, schools, offices and homes so people do not walk through the vehicle opening.
Local considerations in Galashiels, The Scottish Borders
In Scotland, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.
Around Galashiels we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We check the hinge side, closer or operator, lock type and power, and link it to the same access system as the vehicle gate. Price shown is a comparable swing operator.
Maintenance of automatic pedestrian gates in Galashiels
Planned maintenance keeps automatic pedestrian gates safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service CAME and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
Repairs in Galashiels
If your automatic pedestrian gates has stopped working, is noisy, is opening or closing on its own or is showing a fault, we fault-find on site and repair it, often on the first visit using parts from our shop. We repair systems we did not install and work on all common makes.
Servicing in Galashiels
Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
