About automatic pedestrian gates
An automatic pedestrian gate is a single-leaf gate beside a vehicle gate or barrier, opened by fob, keypad or intercom with a lock that releases on entry.
Used at apartment blocks, schools, offices and homes so people do not walk through the vehicle opening.
Local considerations in St Helens, St. Helens
In England, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.
In a built-up area like St Helens, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We check the hinge side, closer or operator, lock type and power, and link it to the same access system as the vehicle gate. Price shown is a comparable swing operator.
Maintenance of automatic pedestrian gates in St Helens
Planned maintenance keeps automatic pedestrian gates safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service CAME and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
