About rising arm barriers
A rising arm barrier (boom barrier) is a cabinet with a motor that raises and lowers a horizontal arm across a lane. It controls traffic rather than stopping a determined vehicle.
They are used at car parks, business parks, hospitals, schools, residential developments, depots and toll or ticket lanes.
Local considerations in Oldbury, Sandwell
In England, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.
Around Oldbury we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We check lane width (arm length), traffic volume, the base for the cabinet, cable ducts for loops and power, and whether an arm skirt or support is needed.
Maintenance of rising arm barriers in Oldbury
Planned maintenance keeps rising arm barriers safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service CAME and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.

Servicing in Oldbury
Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
