About safety edges & photocells
Safety edges are pressure-sensitive strips that stop and reverse a gate on contact; photocells are infra-red beams that stop a gate if something is in the way.
Fitted to all automatic gates, barriers and doors.
Local considerations in Nottingham, Nottingham
In England, powered gates and barriers are machinery: they must be installed and maintained so they are safe in use (BS EN 12453 force limits, photocells and safety edges) under health and safety law, and any gate onto a road must not open over the highway.
In a built-up area like Nottingham, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We assess every crush, shear and trapping point and fit edges and photocells to suit, then force-test.
Maintenance of safety edges & photocells in Nottingham
Planned maintenance keeps safety edges & photocells safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service CAME and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
Repairs in Nottingham
If your safety edges & photocells has stopped working, is noisy, is opening or closing on its own or is showing a fault, we fault-find on site and repair it, often on the first visit using parts from our shop. We repair systems we did not install and work on all common makes.
Servicing in Nottingham
Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
